Xtrfy MZ1: Perforated fingertip grip mouse for shooters weighs 56 grams

The MZ1 is the lightest mouse Xtrfys to date and is once again aimed at shooter players with high-end components. On the one hand, it is very reminiscent of the M42, which was presented at the end of 2020 , on the other hand it has a different shape, designed in collaboration with the YouTuber Rocket Jump Ninja.

Light, lighter, almost the lightest

The MZ1 has a - especially vertically - protruding rear, which makes it strong, for example reminiscent of Endgame Gears XM1 RGB (test) or XM1r . Those are noticeably heavier with at least 70 grams than the really light MZ1 with 56 grams - so far only very few comparable mice are lighter, such as CoolerMasters MM710 (test) . A particularly low weight is an advantage for fingertip grip mice because the mouse - as the term already suggests - can only be touched and pushed around with the fingertips; and often over long distances with the low sensor sensitivities typical of shooters.

Thanks to the high back, the mouse should also be suitable for claw grip, while it is also suitable for palm grip operation turns out small. To achieve the low weight, Xtrfy once again relies on the holes in the case, which are almost typical for comparable mice, but this time omits the middle area of the flanks, so that the holding fingers are offered a flat surface. In addition, for the best possible gliding propertiesPTFE sliding feet and a flexibly wrapped cable provide.

As a sensor, PixArts PMW-3389 is a proven model that has always impressed with high precision in the past. Regarding the built-in primary switch, however, there is still no reliable information - supposedly the Kailh GM 8.0, which is also built into the XM1r, while the M42 recently relied on Omron standard food. Furthermore, there is nothing to report about the associated software - it is not available: USB query rate, lift-off distance and lighting are viaKey combinations adjustable on the hardware side; no further adjustments possible.

Pre-orders possible from February

According to Xtrfy, the MZ1 should appear in spring 2021. Pre-orders are possible from February, when a recommended retail price of 79 euros is called. The mouse is thus positioned above all XM1 models in terms of price.
