Xbox finally available in Germany!

Today at midnight the Xbox launch in Europe took place. Thus, the magic box eagerly awaited by many is finally available in Germany. Since this is Microsoft's first console, the tension was probably particularly high. We were able to gather our first impressions at the launch party in Berlin.

Especially for users who are used to the PC, two properties of the new console play a decisive role. On the one hand, the question arises as to whether the graphical representation can keep up with modern PC systems, despite the significantly lower resolution; on the other hand, the controller will certainly be particularly important for the success of the Xbox. The guests were able to test both at the launch party in the Berlin club '90 Grad'. Overall, both were able to inspire us, but individual possible points of criticism have also become clear. In contrast to our own tests, the exchange of opinions and experiences with representatives from other media was particularly interesting at today's launch. What came out of it, and what we tickled out of the Xbox in the test, you will soon find out in detail here on CB.

Regardless of how we and others judge the quality of the black box in the end, the pricing will have a major influence on young people in particular whether they dare to buy it or not. Microsoft originally set a significantly higher price for Europe than in the USA at € 479. However, there are already signs of significant price reductions at all large department stores. The normal price is now € 399. Even prices that initially mean a loss are conceivable, as these can be easily offset by the enormous profits from accessories and games. We'll have to wait a while until the first affordable packages including console + accessories + games appear.
