Windows XP breaks sales records

Even if analysts have predicted Microsoft and Windows XP a flop, the sales statistics speak a completely different language. More than seven million units are said to have been sold within two weeks.

All versions of XP are included in the statistics, i.e. full, update and OEM versions. Microsoft has exceeded the sales figures of the first month of Windows 98 by 200 percent. The sales figures for Windows 95 and the Millennium Edition (ME) were also exceeded. As a comparison figure, one million Windows 2000 versions sold in the first month are given. Another boost is expected from November 16, when Windows XP starts in Japan.
