Windows code name 'Gemini': Longhorn for the PDA
We have already reported several times in the past about the new user interface of the Windows XP successor Longhorn. The first screenshots of a new handheld operating system from Microsoft that goes by the code name Gemini and offers a similar user interface have now appeared.
The new operating system, based on the Windows CE platform, is provided with an XML interface driven and is therefore closely related to Longhorn . The taskbar has moved to the left and offers all the necessary functions that were previously hidden behind the 'Start' button. In contrast to the prototypes of the Longhorn surface , Gemini looks a bit more advanced. On the two screenshots there is no build number (which is completely normal for Alphas).
