Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 almost finished
One would think that Microsoft is not making any headway with the development of the third service pack for Windows 2000. In the meantime, the probably last update for Windows 2000 has been in beta for 5 months. Microsoft wants to do its job properly and thoroughly.
The beta testers have now been informed that the first release candidate will finally be available for download in April after a long wait. Depending on how many errors are found in this last phase of each beta test, the chances are good that Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 will receive Ready To Manufacture (RTM) status in the next two months.
