Windows 2000 Datacenter version released

Microsoft has its Windows 2000 family completely. On Friday, August 11th, 2000, the release for the production of Windows 2000 Datacenter Server was given. The data center server cannot get in the shop. It is sold by Microsoft through certain companies, so-called Certified Datacenter Partners.

According to Microsoft, the companies include IBM, Compaq, DELL, Hewlett-Packard and Unisys. All these companies can therefore also offer corresponding hardware that the data center server supports. Windows 2000 Datacenter Server supports up to 32 processors, up to 64 GB main memory and up to 4 nodes in a cluster with load balancing functions. Windows Datacenter Program, the partner program, starts with Aplomb on September 26th in San Francisco. The server version will be sold to customers from autumn through the program partners. When it comes to pricing, Microsoft leaves the choice to the program partners.
