Will AMD be the next 'victim' of nVidia?

The site 'Russian Gaming World' started a rumor that nVidia is planning to buy Intel's competitor AMD in the foreseeable future. After getting rid of a competitor in the graphics business by taking over 3dfx, nVidia would pave its way into the processor market.

One of the arguments cited is that nVidia recently launched the nForce, a chipset with integrated graphics for socket A mainboards. In addition, at the end of November 20 million of its own files were sold, which brought an impressive 2 billion German marks into the coffers. With so many cash and cash equivalents, the rumor mill is of course always particularly hot, and there are even rumors about a takeover of SGI , a provider of a wide range of high-performance computing systems and graphics-oriented solutions. Ultimately, it was not yet possible to find out what was true of the rumors, as none of the companies had commented on the matter yet.
