Where are the Detonators 7.27

As announced, nVidia originally wanted to release the Detonator 7.27 with Hidden Surface Removal (HSR) support for GeForce cards today. However, a change of direction by nVidia has led to the fact that they deny the Detonator 7.27 and thus a release by nVidia will not take place.

The reason for this change of direction is probably due to the work on the Detonator 7.35 and higher, whose HSR support is more or less limited to the NV20 for no reason. The GeForce2 could support HSR with limited hardware through little tricks, but this would mean that graphics cards equipped with it could increase in speed, which of course would reduce the performance gap to the NV20, the GeForce2 successor. As a result of this assumption, the Detonator 7.27 is withheld or completely denied for marketing purposes. But employees from ELSA and nVidia have indirectly confirmed that this detonator exists. Furthermore, nVidia's claim that the Detonator 7.27 never existed makes no sense, as that would mean jumping straight to newer version numbers. In my experience, however, every increase in the version number, similar to Windows, means that the source code was recompiled and every Detonator driver version existed. nVidia will release later versions of the Detonator 7.xx as they are necessary for the NV20. A release with the official presentation of the GeForce2 successor would therefore be conceivable, but should not be taken as a guarantee.
