VIA KT400 only in the 3rd or 4th quarter
The start of the new VIA KT400 chipset has been delayed according to a report from colleagues at HardTecs4U. Accordingly, the chipset with DDR400 memory and AGP 8x support will not be released until the third or fourth quarter. The original date was the current second quarter.
The current problem for VIA, however, is that there are currently no cards with AGP 8x support on the market. It is the same with DDR400 memory, which is practically not yet available on the mass market, and DDR333 memory is just establishing itself. This delay also has an impact on the mainboard manufacturers, as they can now place their products based on the KT333 on the market and keep them longer.
