VIA KT333 presentation this week?
According to the online magazine The Inquirer, the Taiwanese chipset manufacturer VIA will present the latest chipset offshoot for computers with an AMD CPU, the KT333, this week. As the name suggests, the chip will support the brand new DDR RAM with a clock rate of 333Mhz.
In addition to the PC2700 RAM, which will soon become the standard, the chipset offers an AGP 8x interface, the Southbridge 8223A one ATA133 controller. The V-Link already used by VIA in the KT266 (A), a new type of connection between north and south bridges, has also been increased from 266MB/s to 533MB/s. Information about the KT333 mainboards in the starting blocks that had surfaced in the last few days had already suggested an upcoming presentation date.
