VIA KT266 for DDR and SDRAM
In contrast to the AMD-760 chipset, the Apollo KT266 from VIA will support both DDR RAM and SD RAM. With a KT266 mainboard you can continue to use your old memory and save yourself the purchase of the DDR SDRAM.
The Apollo KT266 will probably not be available before March next year and can even be delayed further. A motherboard would have to have both 168pin slots for SDRAM and 184pin slots for DDR SDRAM, but whether this will be the case depends on the demand for such boards. So there will probably also be motherboards that only have 168pin slots and others that only have 184pin slots.
