VIA introduces P4PB 400 mainboard

VIA officially presented the mainboard P4PB 400 with the 'VIA ApolloP4X400' chipset a few minutes ago. The board is thus the first platform with DDR400 for the Intel Pentium 4 and also has a wealth of features.

Intel's latest processors with 533MHz front-side bus are supported as well as graphics cards based on AGP 8x. The 'VIA Rhine III VT6105M' enables onboard LAN with up to 100MBit. While FireWire is also implemented via an additional controller (VIA VT6306 IEEE 1394), USB 2.0 is already firmly integrated in the chipset. The first fruits of VIA's full-bodied announcement that they will be involved in the sound sector from now on can also be found on the board. The 'VIA VT1616' enables a 6-channel sound. The most important feature, however, as already mentioned, is the support of DDR333/400, which, in cooperation with an FSB of 533 and its data transfer of 3200MB/s, could give the processor a lot of legs/div>
