US music industry associations RIAA/IFPI ruthless
The popular web site CDcover.cc, on which one could find covers, i.e. sleeves, of various CDs, had to take its extensive audio sleeve archive offline under pressure from the American music industry associations RIAA/IFPI.
There was no court hearing, however, the operators of CDcovers.cc voluntarily gave up and took the audio section offline. It was practical, as you could download the covers for free and replace your somewhat worn or faded CD cover with a printout on photo paper with a photo printer. But unfortunately the cover is also subject to copyright, even if it is difficult to understand that the music industry, or the artists, should avoid badly earned royalties by distributing CD covers.
