Updated Intel Desktop CPU Roadmap
Based on data from the English online magazine 'The Inquirer', VR-Zone has put together an updated roadmap. This roadmap is about the 'normal' desktop CPUs, mainly the P4, but also the Celeron processors.
So the 2.6 and 2.66 MHz models of the Pentium 4 should already be in the third quarter of the year and not, as previously assumed, only come onto the market in the fourth quarter. The new Celeron processors based on the Willamette 128 core with 1.8 GHz will appear in June and then with 1.9 GHz in the third quarter. The introduction of processors with more than 3.06 GHz is scheduled for the second quarter of 2003. Below is a little table that we borrowed from our colleagues at VR-Zone:
