Two new PowerPC processors from IBM
According to its own information, on the eve of the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, IBM is presenting two new power-saving PowerPC embedded processors. The PowerPC 440GP and PowerPC 405GPr processors are both members of the PowerPC 4xx family with an integrated RISC processor.
The 440GP, with 400, 466 or 500 MHz, is manufactured using 0.18 micron copper technology. The 405GPr is available with 266, 333 and 400 MHz and is manufactured with the same technology. The 500 MHz version should bring it to over 1000 MIPS.
