Two new Abit mainboards with i815E chipset
Abit presented two new mainboards yesterday. The SA6R works with the Intel 815E chipset and offers space for an FCPGA CPU.
It supports 66/100/133MHz front-side bus, has 2 + 2 USB ports, 4 DIMM slots, 6 PCI slots, 1 AGP slot (4x) and 1 CNR slot. Furthermore, an ATA100/Raid controller is on-board, this is RAID 0, 1 and 0 + 1 compatible. Audio, graphics and network cards are also on board. Abit allows the user to use their own graphics card or the on-board graphics card that supports AGP 2x. Abit has expanded the SoftMenuIII, it now allows settings of the FSB from 50MHz to 250MHz in 1MHz steps.
Die The second new product is the SH6. Like the SA6R, it works with the Intel 815E chipset. The special thing about this board, however, is that it is currently the only one on the market that still provides slot 1 with this chipset. PII's, PIII's as well as Celeron's are supported. The SH6 has an on-board graphics and audio card, but the user can decide whether he would prefer to use the on-board graphics card or a different one. There are also 6 PCI slots, 1 CNR slot. This board also supports ATA100/66/33 and offers in the SoftMenuIII settings from 50MHz to 250MHz in 1MHz steps.
