Trojans in file sharing programs
Limewire and Grokster, both peer-to-peer clients, contain a Trojan. This was admitted by the developers. The Trojan is hidden in an advertisement and is downloaded onto the PC. A tool has already been released to detect the Trojan.
The Trojan is called 'W32.DlDer.Trojan' and it collects data about the computer. These mainly contain details about the installed software and hardware. But no damage is done. The trojan will no longer be able to be installed in the next versions of the file sharing programs.
