Timna project pulped
Intel has finally stopped the development of the processor known under the code name 'Timna'. Timna should be a low-cost processor comparable to the Celeron with an integrated graphics controller and memory interface.
The development of the processor has already been delayed several times, because, for example, the idea of equipping the Timna with Rambus technology, given the high Rambus prices was a crazy idea that delayed development by about half a year. As a result, an extra converter chip had to be developed in order to be able to operate the Timna with, but only PC100, SDRAM. With regard to the Duron and the upcoming chipsets for the AMD platforms, the Timna would probably not have had much chance of success.
