Three 40x CD burners in the test: Traxdata, LG and Waitec in comparison

Worry corner and conclusion

Basically, the CDRW 401248 tx and the GCE-8400B left behind consistently a very good impression, while the high access times and the long recognition time of the Waitec Storm 40X reduced the otherwise positive impression, especially as a CD-ROM drive. Nevertheless, the three representatives of the 40x burner can of course be used as an ordinary CD-ROM drive.

The largest The problem for all three 40-fold burners is currently the lack of availability of suitable blanks, but this should change soon, as the evolution of the burner is not yet complete and there will be 48-fold burners in the future.

In terms of manual and documentation, Traxdata, LG and Waitec have not exactly covered themselves with fame, Yamaha is still the undisputed number one here.

At prices of around 80 euros, for which some of the burners are already available, you can access all three without hesitation, but you should consider buying a 48X burner, as it is likely that a limit has been reached at these speeds for the time being.

At this point we would like to thank Waitec, Traxdata and LG once again for testing the products. As always, our forum is responsible for any questions.
