Thoroughbred arrives June 10th

On June 10th, the new processor core of the Athlon XP will finally see the light of day together with a massive price reduction. The model number of the new processor will be 2200+, with which AMD is consistently expanding its previous product range.

Due to the new Thoroughbred Core, which, in contrast to its predecessor, the Palomino, is manufactured in 0.13 µm, the heat output of the processor drops slightly and thus allows AMD higher clock frequencies. However, little changes in the fact that the current Athlon architecture has reached its limits. Only the 32/64 bit Hammer processor will be able to change this with its completely new design.

As already mentioned, AMD will reduce the prices of the old models significantly before the introduction of the new processor. This will take place on May 27th, exactly one day after Intel's next processor price reduction. With up to 44 percent, AMD's price reduction is more than significant. The following prices will therefore apply to the purchase of 1000 pieces.
