The Radeon 8500 XT and RV250 arrive in March

A Chinese website reports that the successor to the Radeon 8500, the Radeon 8500 XT, and the new RV250 chip will be presented at CeBIT. There is also new information about the next generation of ATI chips available.

Like cards with the RV250, the Radeon 8500 XT is equipped with 128 Mbyte DDR RAM. The chip clock should be 300 MHz. The standard clock of the RV250 is rumored to be 350 MHz. Corresponding cards are expected to be named Radeon 8800. But that would also mean that the chip design has been changed compared to the R200. In May ATI will show the first samples of the R300. The Radeon 9x00 cards will be released in summer/autumn. The 0.13 micron chip will support DirectX 9.0 and the Vertex and Pixelshader 2.0. It is clocked at 350-400 MHz.
