The i845G comes earlier

VIA and SiS have already completed a chipset with integrated graphics for the Pentium 4. Since the PC manufacturers are also demanding a corresponding solution from Intel itself, the i845G was brought forward. The first samples have allegedly already been sent.

Intel is a little slower than the competition, as the VIA P4M266 and the SiS650 are already in mass production. Both have an integrated graphics solution. The i845G from Intel will be delivered in May 2002. Allegedly it also supports a FSB of 533 MHz, which is required for the new Pentium 4 generation. SiS and VIA have already started to adapt the corresponding chipsets.
