The decision is made: Micron buys Hynix
What has already been announced in the past few days has now become a certainty. After Infineon lost interest in the ailing memory manufacturer due to the allegedly poorly maintained devices and the resulting high risk in the event of a takeover, Micron strikes.
Hynix boss Park Chong Sup has meanwhile announced that there was practically an agreement with Micron. When the deal is closed, Samsung will have to say goodbye to its place in the sun in the largest memory manufacturer category. All that is needed is the blessing of the board of directors and some of the Hynix Group's creditors. A final decision is expected in about a week.
