Telekom has to offer flat rates
The third ruling chamber of the regulatory authority for telecommunications and post decided on Wednesday evening that Telekom must grant its competitors a flat rate for Internet access in the future.
Sonnet and co. will be able to start their flat rate offers again soon, because the Telekom is to be obliged to approve the providers by February 1, 2001 a wholesale flat rate. A spokesman for AOL even asked for a flat rate of less than 50 marks, as is the case in Great Britain. Meanwhile, Telekom claims that 'the entrepreneurial risk is completely passed on to Telekom' and reserves the right to take legal action against the decision.
