TDK is cutting jobs

The Japanese electronics giant TDK has now announced that it will lay off around a quarter of its employees. That would currently be around 9,000 positions. By the end of March 2004, a total of 24 percent of the current employees will be laid off.

At the end of the last financial year, TDK had 37,251 employees.
