T-Online sends out the first notices

Now that the T-Online flat rate has been set for a long time, customers will be informed of the next steps by post or email. It states that customers who do not wish to be expressly terminated will automatically be switched to the surftime 90 tariff as of May 14, 2001.

This enables customers to surf 90 hours per month for 79 DM per month without additional usage fee. however, every additional minute costs a proud 2.9 pfennigs, which of course is a ridiculous offer for a former flat rate customer - at T-Online this is called 'progress'. Allegedly, users who registered before December 11th, 2000 and can therefore use the flat rate until the end of the minimum contract period, should have received a letter with the specified termination date. Computerbase will of course keep you up to date.
