T-Online: 'Away from the free culture on the Internet!'

Germany's largest Internet provider T-Online announced today that some of the content that will be offered on the T-Online portal in the future will have to be paid for. For example, a live broadcast of a concert could result in additional fees in addition to internet access costs after a few minutes.

According to Thomas Holtrop, CEO of T-Online, free content is permanent economically unsustainable. With the additional income from the portal expansion and the paid content, T-Online intends to achieve around 30 percent of its total sales in 2004.
