T-DSL Light now officially launched
For all those who are still looking down the tube after several bandwidth updates and minor expansions such as line improvements in terms of T-DSL, there is light again at the end of the tunnel. Because Telekom officially launched its new T-DSL today with half the bandwidth.
So this means a downstream of 384 kBit/s and an upstream of 64 kBit/s and, certainly more important for many, a real flat rate. According to the pink giant, the range increases by a maximum of 10 percent. The T-DSL range from the exchange is currently 4.3 kilometers with a normal telephone cable. The current halving of the bandwidth should increase this to 4.6 kilometers, after having been increased by 800 meters in the past few months through various measures, according to Telekom spokesman Walter Genz. The price for the new T-DSL product is just as high as for normal T-DSL with 768 kBit/s downstream and 128 kBit/s upstream, whereby the 'light' variant is only switched when the normal bandwidth is not available is available.
