T-DSL Light is technically not possible
Telekom spokesman Jürgen Nies spoke up today on the subject of T-DSL Light and probably destroys the last hopes of those who live too far from the exchange. As it is said, no DSL connections will be awarded in the future, with which the bandwidth of 768Kb/s cannot be guaranteed.
Although this DSL variant has been checked thoroughly, the modem has to be very good often re-synchronize with the exchange, which means that failures are practically inevitable. Such a product is not justifiable by Telekom, it is said. According to Nies, the few exceptions where T-DSL Light has been approved are customers who live only a few meters too far from the exchange and the connection is therefore still acceptable. If you live 200 meters too far from the exchange, half the T-DSL speed is theoretically possible, but the frequency of faults is unacceptably high.
