AMD has heard the overclocking community! Although the news that AMD will have the fixed multiplier for the Thunderbird (successor to the Athlon) and the Duron (slimmed down version of the Thunderbird) again, the good news came yesterday that the Thunderbird and the Duron will not have a fixed multiplier.

Although the news that AMD will have the fixed multiplier for the Thunderbird (successor to the Athlon) and the Duron (slimmed down version of the Thunderbird) again, the good news came yesterday that the Thunderbird and the Duron will not have a fixed multiplier. At the moment it is only possible to overclock the INTEL processors via the FSB (Front Side Bus) and the AMD Athlon via a debug module.
