Symantec Virus Warning is Loveletter!
The Loveletter (see my news from May 4th) variants are getting bolder. While 'I love you' was very bold, there are always new variants, such as 'Mothersday', 'Joke', 'Funny News' or what I think is the boldest is an alleged virus warning from Symantec's technical support.
As Symantec has published on its website, however, it is a very dangerous virus that not only causes Lovelette damage (i.e. it sends itself to all addresses in the Outlook Express and mIRC address book and overwrites all audio and video files) but also delete all .bat and .com files, which in the worst case ensures that Windows no longer starts due to the missing win.com.
