SuSE Linux 7.1 from February 10th
The current Linux distribution 7.1 from SuSe will be available from February 10th. The 2.4 kernel, which was only recently released, is new.
The advantages of the new kernel version lie in the improved support for multiprocessor systems and memory addressing of a maximum of 64 GB. In addition, the USB and Plug and Play support for ISA cards has been improved. In the 7.1 version, the 2.2 kernel is also included, for those who prefer this kernel to the new one. SuSE Linux Personal Edition with three CDs, manuals and 60 days of installation support costs 89 marks. The professional version, which includes seven CDs or a DVD and offers 90 days of installation support, costs 129 marks. The update was only 79 marks.
