Surround sound receiver with USB from Yamaha
With the @PET RP-U100, Yamaha has introduced the world's first audio receiver with a USB connection. It connects surround sound components (e.g. amplifier with Dolby Digital decoder) and conventional audio receiver functions to the PC via the USB port.
Unfortunately, the receiver costs $ 500 and is not yet available in Germany offered. The Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) should make it possible to create a realistic surround environment with just two stereo speakers. In addition, the two audio sources must not be very far away from the listener. With the enclosed software it is possible to control all functions from the PC. The @PET RP-U100 is compatible with Windows 98 and Mac OS version 9.0.2 or higher.
