Sun and Microsoft agree

After more than 3 years of legal battle, Microsoft and Sun reached an out of court settlement of US $ 20 million from the software giant to the inventors of Java. It was agreed that Microsoft may continue to distribute programs and their updates that have implemented Java support, but these must pass a compatibility test developed by Sun.

All new programs may no longer contain Java, especially the new one .Net series is excluded. However, Microsoft is still open to developing its own products that are in direct competition with Sun's Java
