Security patch for IE
Microsoft released a security update for Internet Explorer version 5.01 or higher yesterday. The patch is supposed to close six security holes in the browser, Microsoft recommends, as usual, to install the update immediately.
Among other things, a new variant of the 'Frame Domain Verification' security hole is fixed, with which it was possible for attackers, and another Open browser window and access local files. A fix for the security hole in connection with MSN Messenger (we reported ) is not yet included. The patch, which is also available in German, can be downloaded directly from Microsoft .
