Scythe Ninja Cu put to the test: Limited copper edition of the classic

Performance comparison

With the 800 rpm slip stream series ventilation, the Ninja Cu is one of the quietest cooler combos on the market. Even at full speed, it can only be heard when the ears are pressed directly, which is why we do not perform an audio test. In throttled operation it is completely silent and is therefore an ideal partner for friends of the silent PC. However, in order to be able to assess the performance of the copper bolide even at higher speeds and to be able to make cross-comparisons with the competition, we test the Ninja parallel to the series ventilation with our three reference fans:

Scythe S-Flex Pope F2GLL Sharkoon Power
120 mm reference fan with low speed: Scythe S-Flex SFF21D with ~ 750 rpm
120 mm reference fan with medium speed: Papst F2GLL with ~ 1140 rpm
120 mm reference fan with high speed: Sharkoon Power with ~ 2100 rpm
750 rpm (12 volts) 1150 rpm (12 volts ) 2100 rpm (12 volts) inaudible minimally perceptible intrusive loud mp3 audio sample mp3 audio sample mp3 audio sample

The performance of the ninja construction should be almost exhausted with the full copper variant. Nevertheless, the Ninja Cu is at the forefront of the charts, especially at low fan speeds, and only has to let the newcomers from Thermalright and ZEROtherm go. Compared to the hybrid original ninja, the higher quality material noticeably increases the performance again, the level of the Mugen is also slightly exceeded.

In addition to the convincing acoustic properties of the Slip-Stream series fan, its higher cooling capacity is also said to be higher Mentioned in comparison to other fans with the same speed. We have already observed this character during the short test of the Scythe Mugen . There, however, the 1200 rpm version of the fan is used, which is much louder than the competition with the same speed.
