Rumors and anger about nVidia's 'Crush'

According to rumors, nVidia will present the new Crush mainboard chipsets at a press conference scheduled for June 4th as part of Computex (Taipei). The Crush will initially be available in two versions. Both support Socket A (Athlon and Duron) and the latest C revisions with 266Mhz front-side bus. While the Crush 11 will 'only' be compatible with SDRAM, its big brother, the Crush 12, is also equipped for operation with DDR RAM.

nVidia has set the third quarter of 2001 as the release date . However, there are rumors that this project could possibly be canceled. Sources are sure to have found out that the future competitor Via is already preparing legal steps against nVidia, since the graphics giant is said to have illegally used patent-protected know-how.
