According to its own statements, the American startup company ZeoSync, in cooperation with experts from various universities and scientists from all over the world who are not mentioned, has developed a process with which data can be compressed much better than before.

In the laboratory, the procedure has already been successfully used to the effect that it has been possible to compress small amounts of data of a few hundred bits and then to reconstruct again. This report also attracts attention because ZeoSync claims that it can shrink data with the 'Relational Differentiation Encoding' method than the 1948 by Dr. Claude Shannon established 'Mathematical Theory of Communication' allowed. This means that data can only be compressed up to a theoretically specified maximum without losses. In cases in which conventional compression methods allow a maximum rate of 10 to 1, ZeoSync is hoping for a rate of almost 100 to 1 if the product is to be presented to the public in the course of 2003. Peter St. George, the company's founder, expects the data to be in a 'healthy integrity' state after it has been decompressed. The company has already contacted a film producer and is hoping for strategic alliances with the film industry as well as profits from the expected cost reductions on the Internet through highly compressed data.
