Quadro2 Pro successor is coming
nVidia will also produce a special version of the GeForce3 for the workstation area, which will then replace the slightly outdated Quadro2 Pro. The new chip goes by the name of Quadro DCC and, thanks to ELSA's exclusive relationship with nVidia, will probably be found first at the 'Gladiac DCC'.
Basically, as with the Quadro2, the card data corresponds to one normal GeForce3, but the drivers will be expanded to include a large number of application-specific features that will provide a good performance boost, especially in the high-end area. It is also interesting whether nVidia has managed to prevent the conversion of a 'normal' GeForce into a Quadro in the new version, which has been possible up to now. According to estimates, the Quadro DCC will be available for about DM 4,500 at the start of sales.
