QSC reduces bandwidth for special ports

Apparently QSC seems to be reducing the bandwidth for certain ports in the DSL offer at the moment, contrary to the contract. In particular, this should concern ports used by file sharing tools. Clear drops in speed were found at KAZAA, Grokster, Morpheus (Port 1214).

Also the ports for Gnutella, Bearshare (port 6346) and Gnutella (port 6347) offer significantly less bandwidth with sometimes only 32kb/s, even if this is still quite a lot for normal analog and ISDN users. According to a statement from QSC, this should only be a temporary “solution” until QSC's network capacities have been expanded, which should be done by the beginning of next year. However, it is not clear whether the bandwidth of the ports is consistently limited or, depending on the overall load, is only limited from time to time, which is very likely, because the full bandwidth is still available when surfing and the most important thing for most users the ping is still at the low level that QSC is used to.
