Problems with Visiontek GeForce 4 Ti card on EPoX 8KHA +

About a week ago, the news went through the network that the GeForce4 Ti 4600 card from Visiontek collided with a capacitor on the KT266A board 8KHA + from EPoX when it was installed. EPoX confirmed this discovery in a hastily published press release.

In order to offer potential buyers of such a card a quick and unbureaucratic remedy EPoX allowed each buyer to dismantle the capacitor himself (which has no influence on the functionality of the board). The guarantee should not be affected. As we were told today at the CeBit at the EPoX stand, this promise is based, at least in Germany, on a message sent out too quickly from Taiwan. In German: For legal reasons, EPoX does not guarantee in Germany for a board that has been independently modified without prior consultation. So if you should get hold of an unsuitable graphics card in the near future, you are advised to contact customer service and find the 'best solution' for the customer in this way. If it is decided there that the board may only be changed by an authorized person, the board must be sent by post to EPoX Germany. The internal processing time should be 1-2 days. After about five days, according to EPoX, the mainboard should be back with the buyer.
