Since 3DMark 2001, like 3DMark 2000, is a purely synthetic benchmark, it also says relatively little about the expected gaming performance but is a good starting point for future games, as it is fully based on DirectX 8, especially DX8 cards such as Geforce3 or Radeon 8500 stand out clearly from the rest.
The Powermagic Radeon 8500 (LE) in 32 bit has a clear lead here, and the increase in the clock frequency to 275/275 Mhz is well implemented here. The GeForce 3 is 10% of the standard resolutionThe PowerMagic Radeon 8500 LE topped.
It should be noted about this benchmark that the Radeon 8500 achieved significantly lower frame rates in the Nature Test than the GeForce 3.
The PowerMagic Radeon 8500 can do a decent job in 16 bit color depth Collecting points while the GeForce3 barely has more points than it could achieve in 32 bit, the performance advantage of the PowerMagic Radeon 8500 in 3DMark2001 is even greater.
