Police take action against 0190 dialers for the first time
The LKA (State Criminal Police Office) in Bavaria was the first federal state in Germany to take action against fraud with so-called 0190 dialers. Their investigations extended to the whole of Germany and were found in five apartments and offices.
Like the website Dialerschutz.de found out, extensive evidence was confiscated. This material, mainly PCs, various software and other documents, are now being examined, but several months can be expected, according to LKA investigator Karsten Lauber to Dialerschutz.de. Two people from the Brandenburg and Bavaria area were particularly noticeable. The LKA had already noticed you at the end of last year through the distribution of manipulated 0190 dialers. The LKA estimates that several hundred Internet users have been harmed, some of which have not paid the bill as a precaution. The LKA estimates the damage incurred at several million euros.
