Playstation One soon for 89 euros
The Playstation One, practically Sony's second version of the original Playstation in a smaller format, will be available from Friday, May 24th of this year for just 89 euros. So far the price was around 130 euros, so this corresponds to a price reduction of at least just over 30%.
Sony's followers in the UK will be able to enjoy the price reduction 6 days earlier this coming Saturday. It is hoped that this first price reduction in three years will lead to an increase in sales among young players, who are supposed to be lured to the Playstation One by the lower price, for which there are now over 1300 games on the market. According to Manfred Gerdes, Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Germany, the lower price was made possible by relocating production to China: 'We want to pass this advantage on to our consumers and at the same time make it clear that we believe in further sales successes for PSone.' p>
