Phenomedia AG suspected of falsifying accounts

Phenomedia AG, made famous by the popular Moorhuhn game, is suspected of having falsified the balance sheets. The CEO Markus Scheer and a board member, Björn Denhard, had to vacate their chairs. The inventors of the grouse game want to have the balance sheets checked.

The report for September 30, 2001 is cited as a clue for the falsification of the balance sheets. To be on the safe side, the check is also extended to periods further back. The BAWe (Federal Supervisory Office for Securities Trading) has initiated a review because the company has become suspicious of massive share sales. If the test turns out to be negative for Phenomedia, an investigation into possible insider trading will be initiated, according to a spokeswoman.
