Pentium 4 notebook from Vobis
Bit by bit, more and more Pentium 4 notebooks are coming onto the market and so there is now the 'Highscreen P4-1700' from Vobis. The notebook has a Pentium 4 processor clocked with 1.7 GHz and costs 1799 euros.
It has a 14.1-inch TFT-XGA display, a 20 GB hard drive, an eight-fold DVD drive, a 56K modem, as well as a 10/100 MBit network connection and 256 MB RAM, which can be upgraded to 1024 MB . Unfortunately, Vobis does not provide any information on the type of memory used for the main memory. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether it is SD or DDR RAM. A 16-bit SoundBlaster Pro compatible AC 97 chip provides the sound and an ATI Mobility M6-D with 16 MB DDR-SDRAM chip is responsible for the graphics. The customer has one Firewire, two USB, a parallel and a fast infrared interface, as well as a microphone connection and TV, audio and VGA outputs. Windows XP OEM was installed on the notebook as the operating system and the purchase price includes a 24-month pick-up service.
