pcAnywhere 10.5 beta test starts

A public beta test of pcAnywhere 10.5 started today at the security experts Symantec. pcAnywhere is a remote access software with which e.g. network administration is to be made much easier. Of course there is also something to win.

The new version offers full support for Microsoft's new Windows XP for the first time, that will be officially unveiled in New York on October 25th. There is also an extended logging function that logs connections with incorrect passwords or unauthorized IP addresses using all tangible information. In the age of security gaps, pcAnywhere 10.5 now also offers a tool that issues small warnings about possible loopholes. The pcAnywhere 10.5 beta will run until November 30th and can be downloaded free of charge from from Symantec . There you will also find further information on the innovations. In order to increase the incentive for all volunteer beta testers, Symantec will distribute a final version of the program to each of the 25 best testers.
