P3 in 0.13µ technology
Intel is slowly getting scared of the monopoly, so the 'life' of the P3 is extended again. Starting with the Katmai in 0.25µ technology, via the Coppermine in 0.18µ technology, one now comes to 0.13µ technology.
The reason for this is AMD's goal of a 1.5 GHz processor next year to bring to market. Intel is aiming for 1.4 GHz, which is to be achieved with the help of 0.13µ technology. Furthermore, a 200 MHz FSB should be provided for the Pentium 3, but this has not been confirmed by Intel.
