Opera 6.01 released
Opera Software has now released version 6.01 of the browser of the same name, which has enjoyed increasing popularity, especially since version 6. Also new is the possibility of using the extra keys for Internet functions available on some keyboards in Opera.
A new function called SmoothScrolling can currently only be activated via opera6.ini, where you have to insert the line 'Smooth Scrolling = 1' (without further spaces!) in the section '[User Prefs]'. As a result, the pages move more smoothly across the screen, but this has a negative impact on performance. We only noticed this option in a first test when scrolling with the mouse wheel, but there it was also very positive. Two issues related to Java were also fixed, such as an applet not loading correctly. In the integrated e-mail client you can now also create new sub-folders and the import process has been freed from some bugs. Otherwise, this update is limited to minor news and bug fixes, the details of which can be seen in the Changelog .
As is so often the case, the German version is still a long time coming, so you can start with English You have to choose the variant or stay at 6.00 for the time being.
