Once again wild rumors about GF3 successors

As ThreeCom.de wants to know, the recently introduced GF3 Ti series will be replaced by the GeForce4 Ti next summer. That doesn't sound like earth-shattering at first, but concrete figures are now also given regarding the clock rates of the new model.

Card version Chip clock Memory clock Memory bandwidth GeForce 4 Ti 1000 ??? 350MHz DDR 11.2 GB/s. GeForce 4 Ti 500 ??? 300MHz DDR 9.6 GB/s. GeForce 4 MX Pro 250MHz 300MHz DDR 9.6 GB/s. GeForce 4 MX 250MHz 275MHz DDR/250MHz 8.8/4.0 GB/s.

The normal GeForce4 models should each have 128MB of local graphics memory, while the MX variants 'only' come with 64MB of video RAM, sometimes even in normal SDR-RAM design.

All of this seems highly speculative, especially at this point, as reports of new, extremely fast DDR RAM from Hynix surfaced a few days ago, and it seems only too obvious that the The new generation of graphics cards will use the fastest, then available memory.

We will all be smarter by next summer at the latest.
